AFTERCARE ADVICE FOLLOWING YOUR NAIL EXTENSIONS

To get the best out of your new nails, here are some key “tips”!
- Remember that your extensions are new to you and it may take a day or two to adjust to having longer nails i.e. zips, buttons, writing etc
- Always use a base coat before applying nail varnish to prevent staining of the nail & use a good quality top coat to protect & prevent chipping the polish
- Use hand cream & cuticle oil everyday – this will prevent your nails from becoming brittle, moisturise soft tissue & keep the extension flexible
- Only use an non-acetone nail polish remover
- Always wear protective gloves when gardening, washing up or doing housework especially when using detergents or bleach
- Use a nail brush to clean behind them regularly
- Do not clip or cut your nails and never use a metal file; use one of our special emery boards, these will not shatter or crack your nails.
- Do not use your fingernails as tools – they are jewels not tools!
- Do not pick or bite your nails off, this will cause damage to your natural nail. We will remove them for you or you can purchase a special solvent for removing them at home.
- Remember to leave only 2-3 weeks between infill maintenance appointments. If lifting occurs, please contact me as water & dirt can get underneath and cause an infection
- If you are planning a holiday it may be a good idea to take an emergency “holiday pack” with you. I would be happy to put a pack together for you, at a reasonable price….please ask for details
- Ensure you wipe sun lotions off your nails and do not leave them in the sand for too long they don’t like suntan lotions or heat!!
- Most importantly, ENJOY your new nails!
